Ameraucana or EE

Would love to see pics of your other gals. Please include pic of combs and feet!

These are the only other 2 in that run / coop and they are also both rescues I got 5 weeks ago. They haven't laid a single egg since I got them, though the comb on the BlackSexLink (first one) is bright pink and she seems ready to lay.

Possible, but not likely that she's got a bit of a glitch in the paint sprayer. First egg slowed down long enough for the brown to be applied, second egg shot past the paint booth before it got any paint!

Sorry to butt in here, but wouldn't that mean that the Ameraucana in her lineage was mated with something other than another Ameraucana? I'm guessing I have misunderstood EE to mean a cross between two dissimilar Ameraucanas, but this would mean that EEs might be a more inclusive group than that....Hmmm...

By the way, that is a gorgeous hen, whatever she is, and in my experience EEs tend to lay somewhat larger eggs than true Ameraucanas, which is a good trait (IMHO).

So the store she got her from is selling EE as AMR. That's sad.

Thanks for you help. And she's an awesome chicken regardless, I was just confused after seeing the difference in eggs.

It is a very common misconception that Easter Eggers have Ameraucana ancestry. The reality is that it is reversed. It is the Ameraucana that was developed from Easter Egger type birds. Easter Eggers are the original, landrace type. The Ameraucana and the Araucana are the developed, refined proper breeds developed from the Easter Eggers. Prior to the 1980s, there was no distinction made between Araucana, Ameraucana, and Easter Eggers. They were all called Araucana, regardless of their physical features. Once the Araucana and Ameraucana breed standards were developed, everything that didn't fit either standard where called Easter Eggers.
