I have 4 Ameraucanas. They are 6 weeks old and I am not sure if they are all pullets or not. The barred rocks and marans I got at the same time are pretty evident based on combs and waddles. I’m waiting to see if hackles and saddle feathers will tell me before they start crowing. Is it just me, or are Ameraucanas tougher to tell early on? At what age are folks able to tell with their Ameraucanas?

They can be tougher because they should have pea combs, which aren't as easy to differentiate as single combs. So you are looking for color and the bulbous look in the combs of cockerels. 6 to 8 weeks is usually enough. Sometimes earlier, sometimes later. Nothing is cast in stone when it combs to telling gender of young chickens.
