Hello, Not sure where to post this question. We have an Ameraucana Rooster, some Ameraucana hens and a black Cochin hen. Ameraucana hens lay green eggs and the black Cochin hen lays milk chocolate brown eggs. Long story short: We hatched some green eggs that we thought were from the Ameraucana hens but the chicks look like the black Cochin hen. They have feathers on their feet like the Cochin hen. As far as I know Ameraucana don’t have feathers on their feet?? Did the black Cochin lay a green egg?? I would think it is not normal but anything is possible in the chicken world. Thanks

It's not likely she laid a green egg all of the sudden; the feather-footed-ness may be from an earlier crossbreeding.
