Ameraucanas have slate legs, come in a few varieties, cost $10+ for chicks, won’t find them at a feed store, will have beards & muffs, & have pea combs.Going to sound like a total newbie here, how can you tell EE vs Amer? I have a couple I know are Eggers but some I'm unsure of.
The biggest way to tell is to familiarize yourself with what the accepted colors look like. If it doesn’t look just like them then it’s an EE.Going to sound like a total newbie here, how can you tell EE vs Amer? I have a couple I know are Eggers but some I'm unsure of.
Ok thank you. I may judge them as AOV's? Not sure. No I am notYes you are correct self-Blue is still a project color and not an accepted color yet. They are working on getting it accepted though. @LilJoe out of curiosity are you a member of the ABC and/or the AA?
Oh yes! Very sorry. Silver must've slipped my mind.Side note* @LilJoe you did forget the Silver Variety in the list. Can we enter them as well. That is an accepted color
I'd want them to be at least 5 months. If you think their feathers are filled out enough then go ahead...Is there an age minimum for entry? I just bought some blue Ameraucana but they are only 6 weeks old. Would like to know how the stack up to the SOP but willing to wait.

The Ameraucana was developed in the 1970's in the United States in order to create a more productive bird without the self-limiting factors of the Araucana. The goal of these breeders was to develop a bird for home food production, pastel colored eggs, small head furnishings, and a plump, well-feathered body. Ameraucanas were admitted to the Standard in 1984.
