I have an ee that lays far bluer than my ams!

What a Rip! You buy from local feed store and they **** ya. Why do they pass off EE's for Ameraucana's ? All chicks there except for my Dominique were $3.00. Dishonest People!!! At any rate I'll love these girls. Guess now I'm a official LOL

It's the fault of hatcheries. They call their EEs ameraucanas. Feed stores just call them what they are told they are.

Jean, I'm new to the breed (heck, new to chickens!) and would love to hear why you say they are Easter Eggers. I thought they were, too, but I want to know if my reasons and your reasons are in the same ball park. Thanks.

One way to tell is to look at their coloring to see if it's one if the recognized patterns. It's not a fool proof method for sure but it's a place to start! Also look at their legs. Are they a slate color? < another way to tell. Also not fool proof, but works a lot of the time.

X2 you can also look at the bottoms of there feet. EEs have yellow AMs have white

Interesting project. Not one I've heard of but they've certainly put some work into getting color conformation in their flock. Very pretty!

Look at the leg color on the chick, YELLOW. Someone seems to be marketing their EEs in a creative way.

Really beautiful, but I'd like to see the punnet square on that color. There is a lot of uniformity, almost like wheaten or SFH colors. Wish I had the extra coop room.
