I have finally culled down to my breeding flock of Ameraucanas.
Young Ones:
Picture 1: This has the 3 Black Pullets, 1 Light Blue Pullet(behind the blueberry bush), 1 Splash Pullet, and the Blue Cockerel.
Picture 2 : The pullets.
Black Cockerel : It is one of these 2. The other is no longer here.
1.5 year old hens:
Maggie
Mary: Just look at that beard.
I went through alot eggs this year and culled out so many to get down to this flock. Cull Roosters are sold for Easter Egg Breeders for as long as I can and then they go for meat. Culled Pullets are sold as Layers of Blue Eggs. I will replace the Roosters next year if I can get hold of the stock I want. The different blood line should give me a good start on my future flock.
