My aunt gave me these "ladies", but she thought one of them might be a roo. They aren't quite 16 weeks. I'm looking in the daylight, and I'm thinking she's right (we were fishing chickens out of her coop in the dark). The bigger one struts moreso than the other one, with a head held high and a puffed chest. Also, the pea comb is rosy and ridged. But the saddle and hackle feathers don't seem particularly long and pointy. They look pointy from afar, but when I look close (which is hard to see in the photos), they are actually rounded with a trianglur color that makes them look pointed. I haven't heard any attempt at crowing. What do you think? I may be holding onto false hope, here (that they're both hens).

this is your rooster you can start to see the saddle feathers coming in

Thanks everyone. That's what I was thinking, but didn't want to be true, but I needed other people to help me face it. :)

I'll have to take this guy back to her.

Yes, I really like his coloring! But I can't keep him in my neighborhood. We don't have an ordinance for roosters, but I don't want the neighbors to complain about the small scale farm going on in the backyard. LoL.
