I believe he’s saying looks don’t mean anything. The best stag I have on my yard from this year sure don’t look the best. He’s not even close to the best looking. He sure tried to wreck every other bird before I got him caught up though.

This is a better picture of the mink. He was a nice size buck. That trap was set for exactly 1 month. Sometimes it takes awhile for them to come back around. They usually do though if you have enough patience to keep it set and working.

Ain't a bird here that most wouldn't have... these young stags got enough to make them question themselves.
I mean that looks don't cut it no matter how we picture that perfect idea of what something is. Theirs culls in everything it doesn't matter where or who you get it from we can only hope for less % of culls.

Last season the ugliest bird turned out to be the best. He is now gorgeous and still one I am not nor will ever be ashamed of.

He’s out with me hunting and fishing 90% of the time. He’s definitely getting big. Got a smart *ss mouth too. Kids got jokes when I shoot and miss.
