American Gamefowl

That's pocket change for a bird really. After two years or so one has way more time and money in them than $100 especially if they keep them up well. Never in my life would I be going to an auction in search of gamefowl you'll spend more time messing around with junk than if you go ahead and spend your money on honest fowl and usually that'll cost ya quite a bit more than $100.
More than 100 dollars for a rooster, holy I wasn't expecting them to be that high,I mean it's better to buy from people who actually care for them and have them healthy.

I've paid well beyond that for ones that's junk and ones that's decent. I paid like $150 for a Jank McLean off Craigslist lesson learned the hard way, I kept him around just for the simple fact that when I looked at him I knew not everyone was honest about something as simple as a chicken... eventually he was culled as he was a paper weight.
Yes they can get expensive when men have been breeding them for 10, 20 or 50+ years Some trios go for thousands it's all in what you are after. Don't get me wrong you can find decent fowl for cheap and crap fowl that won't fit the bill that is expensive, but eventually you'll roll the dice either it pans out or doesn't. I've been given good fowl from a few aswell, but ya live an learn and hopefully it works out sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't. If you are serious about them you'll make your own path of what fits your idea of what you are after. I'd definitely steer clear of auctions though haha seems like a recipe for disaster.

$100 isn’t much especially for a good bird it’s hard to even find a good pullet for that price some auctions have decent birds but it’s. Huge gamble most of the birds are junk labeled as something there not. and most want way to much for shipping and most on the auctions just trade birds around your better off finding somebody that has good fowl and develop a decent relationship with them get a few birds and then create your own strain a good friendship with a good breeder and someone with more knowledge and experience goes a long way and will help you out in the end

After doing a little research I found out there's a bunch of names for American gamefowl like kelso, gerrard,Bennett and McLean,is there a difference in any of this except for the coloring of the feathers?all of them look the same to me except for the color.😲

Would you recommend getting any eggs off eBay?

I will sell you a bail of hay for 3 bucks. A little more then it use to be but it's what you gotta do when you are short on agriculture fields. Although I don't make straw ....
There’s some guys on there that sell very good eggs but like anything else you don’t really know what you’re getting. I wouldn’t pay too much if you do. I haven’t looked on there in long time. I suppose it depends on what you’re looking for.

Thanks. It's more of a gamble then... One seller just took pics off the internet and said these are my birds. I Brought up the same photos on game fowl show website and e-mailed them to him. For all I know he could be selling me silkes.
