That’s if they’re set correctly and the correct sized trap is used for the animal being trapped. The problems come from idiots using one size trap for everything and not staking and swiveling the trap chains correctly.
People that have no idea about trapping have this idea that all traps have teeth on them and clamp down to the bone.
