I checked online at Lowe’s. The treated 2x4x8ft are $7.88 here. I honestly don’t remember what I paid before but that seems awfully high.

They are usually around $4.50 here but they went up in the last 4months apparently

Yeah I was thinking they were around $4 here too. That’s a crazy price jump.

Home Depot $7.77 yes, that high but I "think" the price has actually come down a bit.
"Regular" 2X4 is $5.25. Used to get those for around $2.00

I have always wondered, are these cages predator-proof (ie, electrified?) and how do the birds stay warm only being covered on two sides?

There not predator proof but the chickens stay protected from the elements enough with just two sides if you turn the pen so it blocks your main wind direction. We live in upstate sc so our winters aren't horrible
