I thought about putting together a trapping thread and talked about it with ohzark. The problem is most people aren’t willing to put in the the work involved.
It gets real complicated when it comes to anchoring traps, dispatching in city limits, the correct trap sizes etc. what’s legal where and all that. Preparing traps is another big issue. If not done correctly you won’t catch much and you’ll just teach every fox out there to avoid them.
Honestly most people don’t really care enough to go any further than setting a few cages and keep their birds locked up. Now I just sit back and shake my head at all the idiots.
Kids I understand but some of these adults are ridiculous especially with the amount of birds they lose.
Most people are fascinated with the very sight of a fox and they look past the fact that they are losing birds. They don’t want to kill the wildlife and hope for the best which almost always results in sick birds penned all the time or continually losing birds because they refuse to catch it.Well ya can't hold their hands if they want to learn they'll listen and keep trying and likely become pretty decent eventually. As with anything it takes time to learn a new skill but it's something you can always use that's the way I look at it anyhow.
I’m in no way fascinated by foxes. While they are lovely creatures I’d rather be wearing one than seeing it around my property. Most people are fascinated with the very sight of a fox and they look past the fact that they are losing birds. Well. .you would have to make an opening statement of some sort on the first post telling all the dummies to check their local regulations.I thought about putting together a trapping thread and talked about it with ohzark. The problem is most people aren’t willing to put in the the work involved.

The main point I see people mentions is the wildlife was here first. I get it but they added chickens or ducks which is a huge draw. They act like they’re doing something special by allowing the animal to eat their birds. The reality is they have no idea how to go about catching it so they make excuses to make themselves feel better. They get on here looking for hugs and people to tell them it’ll be alright. It’s madness.I’m in no way fascinated by foxes. While they are lovely creatures I’d rather be wearing one than seeing it around my property.

I cannot stand posts about how they lost Fluffy to a hawk/fox/dog/insert predator of choice because they were free ranging. If you really care about your poultry then you need to make sure they are safe! Sometimes that means you can’t have the picturesque flock free ranging your property. The main point I see people mentions is the wildlife was here first.
