All of that is so ridiculous. That’s why I haven’t messed with any shelter in a long time.
Just from reading the descriptions and requirements it seems ridiculous. These people act like they are the only ones who can care for an animal. Kinda defeats the whole purpose.

I know right! We've had good luck at the humane society. Those people actually want the animals adopted & heir fee's are pretty reasonable.

The prices are all over the place with different shelters. I’ve seen $350 for 6 months to 6 yrs. $250 for 7-8 yr olds. $75 for older.
Some were $150 regardless.
Might wanna knock those pitbull prices down to about $20.

Hubby used to train dogs as a side job way back when. His family had a kennel and raised labs and brittney spaniels for hunting and search and rescue.

He always said it was way harder to train the people how to handle the dog than it was training the dog.
One time a guy brought his dog back and refused to take it home. .he said the dog was worthless. Funny. . that dog ended up being one of the best trained dogs he ever had.

Foster family says dog doesn’t like cats. So if everything else is fine but you have a cat and are willing to take the dog it’s still a no-go. That’s crazy.

It’s just something that annoys me.
It all just seems so counterproductive.

It's ignorant and he's right 90% are usually pit bulls. Thing is people get these dogs and then have to move most times to a place that won't allow said type dogs. The two I've got one came from a pound the other down the mountain lady said they just didn't want her no more when I seen the pictures of her in a back yard full of trash I went an got her. I found her a home but yeah she didn't like donkeys kicking at kids so I got her back she's fine right where she's at I mean she's loving sweet just doesn't like livestock and I do believe a lot of folks the same that think these type make them look tough actually fear said dogs and are afraid to control them.

I have taking stray cats to the pound and or shelter a time or two mostly because they weren't mine to start with they breed like rabbits and I'm not a cat person really. When I was doing my 150hrs community service (I got in Trouble when I was younger) at the land field I know for a fact they were just killing off most those type dogs with .223s I'm pretty sure that later came out. Any how my last day there I found a fat Taco Bell dog an took it home it died of old age not 6months later and was hateful as heck throughout the whole deal lol.

My last GS came from the pound aswell I'm not against getting something from the pound. Now my black GS pup now is from a retired K9 cop in the county. I didn't know anything about it, I told my wife if she'd came home with anything else it would have went back haha very pleased with this girl but i did go see the father in person even afterwards.
