If I can touch it... :p

So far the only live ‘with rootball’ tree I’ve found here is a dwarf spruce... we might do that this year and plant it afterward...

I make a couple wreathes out of real cedar boughs each year, does that get me any ‘street cred’ ?
Can’t you just go dig one up instead of cutting it down at a tree farm?

Most of it is just like legos or putting together a model car. I'm good with engines which takes a bit more due to clearances and specs a lot of mic and caliber checking, I'm decent at diagnosing things as well I'm not just gonna throw parts at something, I am not really a trans guy or rearend guy I'd mug rather swap in known good units instead of rebuilding. Ive learned all I did for myself cause I didn't wanna pay someone to do something I could. Reality Is i only did mechanic work for 2years or so for a living and at the same time I was still doing body work which is what I'm known for here.

Nowadays I just do it on the sides if it's a job I don't want I'll tell em, but most times it's to help someone out and from getting screwed over by shops and dealerships. Every man and women in my opinion needs to know the basics at bare minimum.

I struggle figuring out which LEGO is the problem sometimes  ...

Case in point, the 4wd on my canyon is out right now... I pretty sure it’s a switch or the actuator ... but when I got under it last week I the actuator was easy to locate but for the other two switches I couldn’t find what I thought I was looking for...

My wife’s dad was a mechanic, so she’s actually pretty handy from having helped him a lot as a kid... so sometimes after a pitch a swearing fit, I just go get her

I don’t think so... most of the ones that are meant to be transplanted are set into containers that are placed in the ground... or at least for the money that’s the best bet as far as survival...

Is it push button?

Is it push button?

Yeah, it is...

The buttons work but it won’t engage... I do hear the switch under the seat click ... fuse checks out... there are supposed to be a switch at each wheel I need to check and then the actuator, but it’s the higher dollar part so I was going to rule out the others first...

I haven’t dug into it much yet...but its typical that it takes me 10 times longer to figure out the issue than to fix it, lol

If the lights are just flashing but never engages I'd replace the actuator. A lot of times when it gets below freezing is when they will start to stick. You may try tapping on it while the wife pushes the button just like a starter see if that'll free it up.

My guess is that’s it, I did tap on it myself, but having her try it as I’m tapping is a good idea...

it’s a 15 year old truck ... I probably ought to just stop being cheap and replace the actuator first

Common GM things I know on the older full size like mine theirs also a ground that can cause issues.

Will it go into hi or low? I can't remember but on that they may be on separate actuators hard to recall every truck but if they are separated and one engages but not the other that's a good sign as well.

It wont go into either... in this case it’s just the one actuator...

My back up plan is to have my retired neighbor look at it, he’s one of those guys that’s so handy he recently rebuilt his washing machine, even though he had a brand new one ...

he came and got some cord wood yesterday, so I think I’m up on favors at the moment, lol
