What do you think the pelts you sell are used for?
I know what they’re used for. High end fur coats, trim on hoods for extreme cold parkas etc.. I am obviously a big proponent of fur. I don’t give a rats ass what other people think. Faux fur is just a look but doesn’t do a damn thing. The insulating properties of fur cannot be recreated with synthetic materials made is some factory which by the way have all kinds of petroleum waste which is terrible for the environment. Granted the animal has to die but the meat can be used in some cases and it all goes back in the ground so it’s a renewable resource.

My mom and sister are into sewing so I was thinking I could give them the pelts to sew into coats or other stuff.
They need to be skinned, scraped and then dried on a stretcher. After they’re dry they need to be tanned then can be used for garment. Many pelts like beaver are sheared (guard hairs removed) which will leave the garment with just the soft underfur. I’m pretty sure special machinery or at least hand tools are needed to work with fur. I really don’t know anything about that side of it.

Oh ok. I just subscribed to a YouTube channel where the man does trapping, skinning, fleshing, & tanning. If possible I would rather get some use from the animal carcass than just throwing it out.
