So with all the stags that have been hatched so far will you be building more pens to house them? Or will you be culling some of the stags and maybe some of the cocks to make room for the stags you want to keep?
I have to get a good count but I have a lot more pullets than stags this year. I’d rather cull birds than give them away though. ;)

:barnie You don’t think I’d take care of the bird to your standards?
I thought your American Gamefowl pullets and hens free ranged year round. :idunno
Any pullets or hens I don’t pen do free range year round. I still have quite a few hens in pens in pairs with roosters though. I will cull all defects and turn loose any I don’t want to pen but are still decent birds.
It costs quite a bit of money to raise gamefowl and I’m not running a charity.

Yeah feed can be expensive. I pay almost $20 a bag for the flock raiser I use. When you cut your grass you don’t save the clippings to give to the chickens?

I’m currently feeding close to 200 birds total. It’s very expensive that’s for a week to a week and a half. All the loose birds eat grass clippings from mowing the lawn, penned birds eat grass that gets thrown into the pens from weed eating. I don’t bag my lawn? I don’t even own a bag for my lawnmowers. Lol
There’s a huge difference between a few birds and a lot. The way things are done and the costs.

I didn’t realize you were feeding that many birds. Is it possible to order feed by the pallet?
