American Gamefowl

Well I had a coon trying to dig in, saw a print in the dirt so he told me who he was... so I set heavy tonight, just to see if this trapping thing was as tough as some make it out to be...

It’s early yet...

So far this coon ... pretty sure this was the digger...

This trapping thing is real hard ... I see why folks are trying to invent new sets ...

But so far nothing in my concrete block sets... lol

I couldn’t resist ;)...

got a pretty little 450 set each side of the block... a little clearance sale cat food in the center pocket... and some guide rocks for good measure... but hell what’s a dim bulb like me know about anything, lol

Switched it up with this two holer just to keep em guessing... and yes Havoc that is a roll of 14... I’m a hypocrite what can I say... I’d still recommend 11 for this as a long term, ‘you’re twisting wires once and it’ll last you years’ kinda thing but I had 14 and 9 on hand and I ain’t fighting 9 unless beavers are involved...

Btw... I’ve been listening to the farm dogs tonight... yotes are testing boundaries to the north... its all there if we get out of our own heads and let the critters do the teaching... ;)

But I get how it’s hard to listen to others when you’ve convinced yourself you know it all :lau
You knew I would have picked out that roll. Lol I can’t mess with anything over 14. My fingers get too tired and tore up. I won’t be able to tie flies then.

I caught a possum earlier!

It’s exciting huh?

We should start a thread detailing the whole experience so others can learn from our achievements now that we have it all figured out

Then we’ve should celebrate our good luck together! I’m thinking a tea party with gingerbread ;)

Well I hadn’t thought of fly tying... but I can see 11 wire and that being a bad mix.

I don’t post pics of all the possums I catch. I don’t want to be known as a bragger.
Actually trapping and fly tying can be a tough mix. Mainly from cracked skin and the thread getting caught. I grit it out though.

Oh speaking of trapping. “Cinnamon” was violated in the woods. I found her laying on her side all fired up in the leaves.
Gonna have to figure out where I went wrong.
