American Gamefowl

Speaking of feathers. Omg talk about a couple of hack jobs.
They’ll catch fish but they ain’t winning any beauty contests.

I’m more like a bobcat. All it takes to get me is some fancy feathers blowing in the wind.

Lol, well there you go... no need to worry about blending in the trap too much either.

For me bobcats are 90% set location, 10% eye appeal... if that

This was a pass through set

one of these was a pass through the other a cubby with a feather

Oh crap I think I’m telling tales, and getting pics mixed up... just noticed bean stubble in that first pic... that was on a different farm... that was this guy that I posted in the past....

You can see what caught his eye at the bottom of the pic...

Any way the three I caught back to back were all within 1/4 mile from one another... and that place always carries cats... which speaks to location

Here we go spinning yarns. ;)
I see a Horn! Or antler. :lau
I don’t have much experience with cats so I can’t say much but I do know even a house cat outside will investigate anything that stands out. Even a small piece of paper if it’s noticeable. Interesting to watch. Far better than the nutty professors data collection experiments.

I made a set 90 degrees off a two track road and flagged it up big, scattered feathers in and around the cubby... really made it look like something...

We had a skiff of snow and you could see from the tracks the bobcat stopped, turned toward the set and made one step and then turned back and continued the direction it was headed originally....

You just can’t seem to turn them, but put that same set at a bend in the road so that it catches its eye as it approaches and the same cat will walk right in.
