Simplicity is a thing of the past I'd much rather have crank windows and vehicles that didn't rust out in 5-10years. 95% of Everything is meant to break these days sooner than years before and built cheaply. But they are being built safer and the computers in these things will blow your mind at what they can do so it's not all bad but not something I'd want to mess with.

Just to add back when I had my shop a tow truck towed in a new outback as I'd do estimates on the wrecks and maybe get the work. Anyhow it wouldn't let you turn the wheel it would fight you and straighten them back up an no joke that car called 18 different state police stations while sitting there trying to get it off the truck and into a spot.
I got my mom an outback a few yrs before she passed away. Man that car was nice, kinda complicated but nice. Wasn’t all that comfortable though. Reminded me of a Jeep more than the new ones do.

I like my Silverado quite well and the suburban more my Silverado cause it's got plenty and then some behind it. The lsx engines are about as simple as the old sbc's and can make gobs of power, but the chassis and body these trucks use like to rust way to bad here that's the major down fall of them in my opinion unless someone coated them early in life minus the piss poor job from the factory. I've did over 100 rocker and cab corners on anything from 99-2010 GM chassis and a few frame jobs. I've got to weld in new rear shock mounts when I swap out the rearend cause mine have rusted and broken off on both sides the shocks are just a flopping good thing it also uses leaf springs. I'll get me something newer one of these days for myself and if my Silverado is still going I'll take my setup out of it and put it in a regular cab 2wd from a state with much less road salt. First thing that'll be done if I ever get a newer truck is everything is gonna be coated in por15 underneath or the like.

Funny thing about that was two weeks or so earlier I had fixed the car the fella traded in on that outback and then he wrecks the Subaru I mean it was fresh off the show room floor less than 1000 miles on it. I just couldn't believe the thing started calling police all over the US idk if it thought it was getting stolen or alerting the authorities of an accident but it went ballistic.
