I was using a 5wt rod with those. So you can cast those easily for smallmouth with the 6wt.

Man I made a cast that overshot the mark by a good 15ft and landed in the salad. I brought back in about 39 lbs of sea weed.
I looked around to make sure nobody saw. I was the only person on the lake thank god. That’s the worst cast I’ve made in years. Lol

I’ve been using a fly rod for a long time and I still turn loose a ridiculous cast every now and then. From the canoe sometimes I’ll smack the water behind me too. No big deal. It’s definitely annoying when you hang one in the trees across the river.
