American Gamefowl

I saw the article headline this morning, but didn't bother to read it... Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't most trapping for smaller animals? Like it or not, we have unhinged the ecosystem, so it is hard to step away now and say they will work it out.
Count the dead animals you see on the road. None of that animal is used in most cases. Wasted meat and wasted fur. I’m not sure what the estimated numbers of dead animals is by auto, train and plane but it’s way the hell up there.
The crazies think it can be undone so easily. Haha not quite.
The loss of habitat, clear cutting of forest, pollution of streams and lakes etc..
I find the people with such wild solutions don’t actually know much at all.

... I think I am more sensitive to it because we have so little nature left around my house that I'd prefer not see any wild animal dead. I'd rather see some of the tweakers dead. We have plenty of dirt bags that need to go, thats more of threat to me than anything in wild.

This really is it how it happens isn’t it.... we pack in and live on top of each other until we’re sick of people…

Then we dream up laws trying to fix that and bring back nature .... Never thinking about how it impacts those that don’t live in the cities and aren’t actually part of the problem...

The animals that those guys in California formally trapped are not going to magically show up in your neighborhood so that you can enjoy the wildlife… But that is how people think it’s gonna work ;)

Well put. The best part of the whole deal is those passing those laws I can just about guarantee couldn’t even identify some of the animals.
I’d bet money they couldn’t identify a muskrat and a mink. Gray fox looks like a coyote etc...
I remember years ago I ran my traps before work and picked up a buck mink.
I mentioned it to someone and they all wanted to see it. Not one of 27 people had ever seen a mink in their life. It’s no different in CA or in most places anymore.
Most can’t identify common trees, poison ivy, common insects, etc.. I bet they could all tell you the tv lineup the night before or the score of the “big game”. Sheeple.

This is my last comment on the subject as I am going home for the day,
But coyotes here are keeping raccoons in check. We have more coyotes than coons and the bird populations are thriving.

I dont like unnecessary laws as much as anyone on here. I think a person should be able to defend his property, but not trapping out in the woods around your property. I know sometimes you may need to go on offensive to be defended so I see your point...

I can sure agree with you about the tweakers.

I am guessing the deer problems started because of predator loss. Bring back the wolves and cougars.
And stop human encroachment on natural habitat. Build wildlife corridors and restore natural migration routes.

I know its a complicated issue. but I dont like humans. Like Havoc was saying the hunters /fhishers who dont follow rules ruin it for everyone.
If what you really believe what you said then your telling the whole world your a hypocrite by owning and caging chickens
