Nope. I’ve had a few hatch colored birds. I’ve kept a few too. They’re in pens molting now. They’re every bit as good.

Idk looks pretty similar as far as body goes as my guy just he's standing a bit odd in the photo. Y'all should have seen/noticed them years ago I caught em from the beginning straight gorgeous birds and they are "good" I've been after one for awhile. I wouldnt sleep on one that's forsure.

My favorite black pullet from the owl attack has a black spot on her neck same spot as him havoc. Man she's a beauty built like a tank too! Wish my phone would take pictures that tablet is a bit awkward and large.

I might I've really just been throwing feed and keeping clean water to all the fowl. I've been pretty busy anything from tune ups to pulling intake manifolds, brake work, engine swaps and welding/fabrication all after my day job so times been thin. Just letting those in molt molt out and those growing grow for the most part, we had 3 real hot days last week and from what they say it supposed to start cooling down so that's a plus.

It was hot here last week, I think it was something like 91F for a couple of days. Cooler now though

Beautiful bird! Do you find that all of the hatch colored birds are heavier feathered than the black colored birds? Does the black feathering seem harder?

Getting some much needed rain been pretty dry especially our spring.

Yes all the hatch colored blacks have been thicker feathered. Maybe a little harder. The leiper blacks I crossed this year are all 50/50 so they are thicker feathered similar to a leiper.
