American Gamefowl

Kid shot a little spike buck with the bow the other evening.. Broke the arrow and took off. It got dark on him and he had to drive back to town for flashlights and go back out to track it in the dark.
Totally worth it right? :lau

Well. . maybe. Look at that smile. View attachment 1935960

Long story but... I had to work in the city on Sunday for a special situation and there was a cleaning crew there doing their thing, and a nice lady waxing the floor was playing some tejano music ( which takes me back to my younger days out west ... see told you it was a long story)

... anyway one song had a rooster crow that caught my attention and I could understand every 12th word...

... pretty sure it was a ballad of a fella coming to the US and getting busted in a gamefowl related hootenanny of sorts that ain’t to be spoke of these days...

... anyway I tried to ask her the name of the song... but at that point I’d already accidentally stepped on her fresh wax once so I was not her favorite person... and I suspect she only understood every 12th word I said ...

Long story short ... I spent far too much time since then listening to “gallo” related tejano songs on the internet... gave up and came here to see how many updates I’d missed ... and somehow found this pic ...

Congrats to the young man on the deer...

... my Grandma used to crotchet ( is anyone still even reading this :lau )... and I dragged my first buck from the woods with an ugly yarn scarf she made me out of the misc yarn ends...

... when I told her about how well that scarf did as a rope ... she was beside herself :hmm

I never saw that woman be even close to mean my whole life ... but I saw a little “fire” in her eyes for a second that day :hmm

... a month later I got an orange crocheted hat for Christmas that l still have ...

This concludes Thursday night story time ... I’ll catch up with you all in another 97 updates  ...

Hope all the birds are doing well!

What ever happened to sparky?

Don’t start with me :p... my music feed suggestion is full of songs that the internet wizards think I want to hear based on three days of traditional Mexican/Spanish chicken related songs ... and somehow this is what came up :lau

... the lyrics are pretty dang good , but I was listening to Ozzie when Mr. Brown hit the radar so never was a fan.. still pretty clever song...
