The last deer I shot with a muzzleloader went over 400 yds and the shot was good. The bullet hit a rib and fragmented all through the guts. I couldn’t believe that deer didn’t pile up within 100yds. Seeing is believing. It was like -4 degrees hunting temp and I think it had something to do with the bullet blowing apart like that.I think I enjoy hunting with my iron sight muzzle loader more than the rest just something about it.
I've got a compound and a shit ton of rifles but I like the loader the best.

He has avoided me like the plague.. I've not had the chance.I hope your giving your son as much and even more than we are giving you!

Believe me the shot was good. Quartering slightly towards me and that bullet hit a rib and blew apart. There were some other complaints about them at the time. Barely clipped a lung and should have hit both. Whatever I found her and drug her back in the snow like by the legs like a boss.I ain't ever had that issue but you can make great placement and still have to track them down a good ways. It's just the nature of the beast I reckon.
102 lb doe I think it was.
He did get a finger to the chest at one point.. Man was I fighting mad!
I don't like myself getting that mad.![]()

Were they called PowerPoints or something like that?
