I’m not buying kindling :plbb

Actually I read up on it a bit the other day and got that it’s the sap turned to resin that makes it a fire starter vs just plain kindling

But I don’t ever use lighter fluid in any case, so I’m still thinking nope.

Of all the other names it’s called I’m not sure why fat wood is the common term? I’m gonna go with pine knot from now on.

I’m read it comes from the old days when folks kept kindling steeped in grease/fat near the fire place for fire starting... The resin rich wood burned similar, etc

I do like the smell of pine resin and pine tar...

This isn’t quite as good as beaver castor, but it’s more socially acceptable to shower with, lol

The one on the right is from Finland if I’m not mistaken

That makes sense. I suppose I should have looked into it more. I’m still going with pine knot. Sounds more woodsy.
