View attachment 2300070View attachment 2300067Well I lost one of them day before yesterday due to a brother vs brother fight I penned the other two I knew were stags but this one I’m not sure I’ve always thought it was a pullet but now I’m questioning it considering it has dried blood on its legs? And it doesn’t look very feminine now any suggestions lol

Looks like a stag to me. It happens even when free ranging especially if they have a big multiple tables ladders and chairs brawl and no ones around to split em up. Heck happens with females too with all the rain going on it don’t help.

Yeah I hate I let it happen but it’s a lesson learned. I’m gonna separate it too. Wonder if I should take the hen out and just let the two I’m almost positive are pullets be together

Do what works for you really. I try to let them free range as long as I can before they start picking with the older cocks in pens or cords. The longer the better but usually for me stags can make it 5-8months just depends. I let pullets run until I decided to breed or say to myself hey she’s a keeper or dinner.

I can’t free range just yet I let them out but put them up I’ve got to put actual fence up before I let them run lose I’ve got a nice wooded area behind the yard there on I’m clearing some brush off of but I plan to let them range once I get it done I just don’t want to chance losing another one over my stupidity. I’m learning but it’s Been lessons learned the hard way lol

I see ya got a fence now and some nice pens. Hopefully trapping if ya free range make sure to watch for hawks an owls after trapping hundreds of varmints here predator birds have hit me harder and more randomly.

We all learn the hard way in one way or another make mistakes and try not to repeat em is the name of the game haha.

Yeah. I’m just glad they all came out healthy more than anything and didn’t die of sickness hopefully they make good roosters and can start my journey if there anything at all like there daddy I’ll be happy. I just won’t repeat the same mistake with the other biddies lol

I I beleive the one with the clear band was the only pullet and the other one is a stag too

Both look like females to me I know they’ve got some of havocs pumpkin in em what’s the rest? I don’t recall seeing any colored like the taller standing one especially stag wise. I can’t tell on the more taller standing one 100%. But looks colored like a female and the hackles and saddle look rounded to me for now. I’ve seen hennies colored like that one but ima say two pullets by those pictures for now.
