American Livestock Breeds Conservancy defines Heritage Chicken

I can't find these lists. Is it possible one has to be a member to get access to them?

Edit: Found the public list.

Interesting thread. I took a look at the ALBC definition of "Heritage". I found it a little strange that while they list the definition as a chicken having been accepted by the APA in the mid-20th Century, they are also showing a picture of a Wheaten Ameraucana on the page.

The Ameraucanas were not accepted into the APA until 1984. Not exactly the "mid-20th century".

Also, interestingly enough, while Welsummers and Barnevelders have been around a long, long time (I can't remember now off the top of my head how long they were in the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK), they were only accepted into the APA in 1993.

God Bless,
