American Serama and Marek's disease!

Any chicken can get Marek’s, I wouldn’t say one breed is more prone than another. Egyptian Fayoumi are supposed to be resistant to it, but they flighty and lay smallish eggs.

Do you know if Can you vaccinate for Mareks if they are adults? And how much approximately a test would cost?

Have you checked for worms in case thats the issue?

Yes you can, there is ancedotal evidence that it minimizes tumors. I did that with my flock and any incoming no matter the age. My oldest mareks positive was a 16 year old silkie, my losses to mareks dropped significantly. You can get the vaccine at jeffers, and a few others. It comes only in 1000 doses that you activate. Yes i have bought it for just one bird. It runs about $60 with shipping. This is the directions I use when giving it. Pm if you need help. I use insulin needles, usually they don’t feel it.
