After reading past post from 2010 I went searching for the book, found one I could afford .... went Old school, at local Library

The American standard of perfection : illustrated : a complete description of all recognized breeds and varieties of domestic poultry.

That is a good point about the public library. Most public library's have some sort of request list for books people want them to buy, and they usually add to their collections based on public demand. Ours doesn't have the ASOP or much poultry stuff really, it does have some of the Storey's books. Guess we should request chicken books.

If our Library does not have what I'm looking for, IF I ask. . . they will " borrow " from other Library's .

The US has a spectacular National Agricultural Library. It has a huge amount of chicken lit I it. Individuals cannot check out items. However, you can request your local librarian to check them out for you. Then he/she returns it for you. The catalog is online so you can pick out what you want, print out the biblio info and take it to your library. there are also many items you can read online at the site. Like proceedings from an International Poultry Congress. A worldwide meeting of poultry specialists to discuss current topics for that era. They have been going on since at least the 1930's.
