Aw.

Yeah. Even tough I know that according to some ppl's way of thinking "it's none of" my "business" I gota admit I feel the same way.
Quite some people have a misguided tendency to think it's in-
humane to "
do to dogs" what I do..... .....but my k9s aren't human so......
I think it's a nasty crappy thing to have dogs running loose eating cow pies and rabbit pellets and chicken guts as well as dirty diapers, drinking anti-freeze and septic slurry.
My dogs don't have the glory, the privilege or the fun times and health benefits of chasing cattle, killing chickens and rabbits or eating and drinking poop, pee and anti-freeze because,... well... you see...I hate them enough to keep them chained or kenneled or "on-line" working. I change the batteries in the chain every few days so it keeps working properly. It only costs $3.00 every time I change them.
Of course I'm being facetious when I say "glory", "privilege", "fun", "health", "hate", "batteries".
Here's where it may get hard to continue reading. Please know that if I didn't care I would not post what's coming up next.
My point is,... My dogs are husky
ish, all of them. They will chase and kill pretty much anything. I have 22. That many can attack and kill an elephant.

I don't want them running loose killing and eating my stock and drinking from the sewage lagoon or sewage cistern or getting poisoned whilst re-visiting a dis-gruntled neighbor who put out a dish of anti-freeze baited with chicken stock to kill "stray dogs.
That's a horrible way to die. It essentially explodes the kidneys and stops all flow of fluids. They die from drowning in their own regurgitated poisoned fluids and bodily finction shutdown. They froth green at the mouth and whimper and whine and spasm and stumble blindly about till they eventually can't stand anymore and slowly drown in that froth when it turns red from the ruptured internal organs bursting. Geez, shooting them is way more "humane" but people do the antifreeze thing because it's the,
Out of sight, out of mind! thing. Like such as
"Eeww! I can't stand the sight of blood." or "Oh my! No! Not me! I can't shoot a dog."
Now the reason I am being so graphic is because people really need to see the reality of their in-ability to restrain their K9 buddies in a safe environment. We need to be made aware that no matter how much I care for and about my dog/s there is always gona be someone out there that doesn't give a rat's behind about my dog/s and would see him/her/them dead rather than pooping on his lawn or killing her chickens.
That, my girl, is a harsh reality.

It's cheaper, less stressful and actually kinder and more respectful to restrain/contain them.

Another thing we all need to consider is Guns don't kill people. People kill people. In the same way
Chains do not make dogs wicked .
A 20 foot chain affords 80% the square footage of a 40'X40' kennel and costs about 8% the cost of a "75% escape proof" kennel.
It's also more humane in that it actually invites more interaction with "familiar passers-by" as opposed to the closed in space of a kennel.
I hope you use what you can from this message to find positive methods for keeping Hank out of trouble . Or even use it to ask other people to assist you in keeping Hank safe from the human induced harsh repercussions of chasing and killing stock.
Good luck Rosie girl.
