Yep. It's so close to snowing. The news says 2-3 more days.

.....because I know you're just itching to get mushing.
I may be heading to the city tomorrow.

I hate the city's rush and noise.
But I need to get commercial dogfood. The ice is too thin for the fisherman to get out there to set their nets.

Speaking of meat, my g-pa has agreed to take me fishing for the dogs! Also my mum said i can get 2 more dogs!!!!!

I will label them i a minute

Nice set up. Did you make them yourself?
I made mine. I like blue and white so I used them colors.
I had some that were red&W and thick mains that were Blk&W. the hook line was also Blk&W.
It was old and frayed so I got new blue&Wine and made more so I just different sizes in the blue&W for new neck lines and tugs.

Yep. My mentor taught me how to make the loops and brought rope over. She helped me make some then we went to her friend mushing kennel to look at dogs

Hey!!! Right on. :thumbsup. Congrats on both accounts. You gota post pics. What breed.
I like your mom. She seems cool. Your Grampa too. I called mine Pampa. . ???I don't know why I stared calling him that.
So you'll LMK what kind and how much fish you get then eh?.
My wife said I could get another sled. But only because it's like the one her dad used on his trap line. My wife's dad was Cree from Churchill in Northern Manitoba. Actually he was from Big Trout Lake, Ontario but lived in Churchill for most of his life.
So yeah... I'm adding an ootawpunn(toboggan) to my arsenal.

Yup yup, mentors are so nice to have. I never really had a mentor per say but I learned a lot from many different people. I guess the closest I had to a mushing mentor was my Pampa. Oh yeah, and my mother in law. She was a pretty cool old gal. Kinda strct and sometimes a bit distant but cool. I miss her.
I'm mentoring my niece now. The one that's getting into mushing. She's kinda stubborn and hotheaded though. Raised in Ireland. Buncha hotheads there according to her and her mom. That's why her mom left Ireland and husband.
But I can be pretty darn stubborn too...and hotheaded! I have Irish blood too., and Scottish. Yup hotheaded and stubborn. Wait! I rephrase that.... Fiery and persistent . So when my niece and I disagree I play the wise, fiery, persistent old musher card
