A little late but longboarding is like skateboarding but a longer board.

Oh. I see now. Is that the boards with the big wheels?... like X-cntry skateboarding looking things?
That's what I would need where I live. Even on the paved highway(our paved highway is crappy) I need off-road tires.

...breakfast table yesterday, snow looked heavy, like wet, like from warmth, ... wife agreed. She grew up in Churchill and notices things like this too.
Ya, it was warm alright. Like only -7*C. 20 mins later we had blizzard type conditions. Could'nt see next door(300 yards away). It lasted about an hour. It was breezy for the rest of the day but got really windy last-night and it's still going. It aint cold, but is very blustery and feels cold because of the wind.
Here I am feeling as if I' stuck in the house whereas 7 years ago I used to be 5-60 miles from home in the middle of a swamp or on a lake or in the bush...Mushing..
Being in the bush aint bad but open areas with this type of wind....... can't see 20feet. It aint cold, only -18*C(0*F), but the wind blasting the snow around into any opening in my clothing(buttonholes, zipper gaps, a tear(like torn not crying)) is a nuisance that I am no longer tolerant of. LOL.Turning into a grumpy old man.
It looks like the wind is going to let up this afternoon. I'll most likely hook up a small team and go for a load of fire-wood. And yes I am gloating. because I have the weather... and the dogs... and the sleds.... and... and... and...
I gota go outside anyway,.... I need to feed and water my birds.

Aw. My Appaloosa stallion died. West Nile Fever.
Gee, I wish people would be content with staying put and stop travelling all over and bringing a bunch of sicknesses to my home.
Infested Blanket Disease, BlackPlague, West Nile, Avian Flu, Swine Flu, Spanish Flu, Influenza, BSE, Starlings, Purple Loosestrife, Japenese Longihorn, Beaver Fever....The list is extensive and varied.
I am so peeved off. My horse was such a beautiful, gentle creature.

How many horses do you have?

Idk if I told you guys this already but,
I was talking to mom about getting a Border Collie pup and I told her I'd train him in all or most of these
Lead dog( cuz how smart they are, I've heard good things from my mushing Friends)
Herding ( summer job to keep him In shape and to have a dog who can help put the flock up)
4-H ( when in season)
AKC Showmanship, Obediance and Agility

She said, not this year because I just got Hank, we have 7 inside dogs( 3 are moving out to live with there owners in 4months t0ps)
And because we currently don't have enought to buy a purebred with full Regratration Papers
So I'm trying to sell rabbits, and find a job

#1 Yup. correct. 32*F= 0*C, -40*F = -40*C
#2 LOL. I still mispronounce some words much to the amusement of the old ones.

Okay. Just making sure.

:( That's sad. My dad got West Nile once. Thankfully he's okay and none of our horses got it that year. Yeah. People move and illnesses move with them.

BCs are super smart. I think they'd make good sled dogs but maybe not. It's good to have a backup plan in case the BC doesn't work out.

If all that falls threw he'll make me a nice pet
