it is?  That's amazing!

Awww shucks, I'm blushing. I'm so glad I started this thread and got the chance to talk/meet to you. It's amazing that I am able to talk to someone who has so much more incite into Mushing and dogs than I have and that I am able to be a blessing to you too it seems. :) :caf

Aw. :hugs
Me too. Happy you started this thread I mean
Yes, you are a blessing to me, as are the others on this thread. And of course my biological dotrs too.
Blue, for someone as young as you, you are wise. I see 'real'. Not "plastic" or "valley". You must have a good belief system. That's refreshing and it also lends me more hope for a better future for the coming generations.

On that note.....
You mush differently than me differently than Char differently than Rosie girl differently than..... .than.....than...

Hmmmm.?
No-1 else on!
As suspected 1 of the tires has a structural problem due to :oldold age. Not unlike me. :lau
I need to buy replamentS because the tires on their are obsolete and I can't find any more like them.
I'm buying 19Hx8W on 10" rims. $77.00 each (Cdn$) +taxes and levies comes to $163&change for 2 tires. They're kinda like lawn tractor tires(TurfSavers) which is OK for the back. Those are NOT good for the front wheel because it's harder to steer a "flat-tracker" on uneven ground. So now I have a spare for the front.
It's been raining here all week again. Never seen this much water in the fall. At least not here. My chicken yard is disgusting. I've thrown 10 bales(49X24X24) of straw in there and there is still water on top.
My poor dogs. It's practically a quagmire on their winter stake-out yard. I'm gonna hafta move them again before freeze-up.
Hope to get some sun for a few days before the snow starts falling.
Gee, we still have geese and ducks and eagles flying around here. Strange....

Looks as though I'll be getting laid-off very soon.
Oh well. :tongue That's OK.... Getting kinda tired of it right now anyway. Besides, got lots to do at home, more time for mushing....and....posting.....:gig

So......lemme know wuzup y'all
Training...
Weather....
Sickness....
New sled/s, harness/es, dog/s, ???/?

It's funny how when ever we finally have some good training weather, I get sick. I finally got over my cough and now I am sick with the flu. I just checked the weather and since we have good weather for once, I'm gonna train this weekend (sick or not sick). I am checking in with some friends to see when I can get some dogs that I'm buying from them, and then heading over to my mentor's house to pick up a couple of car axles. Busy weekend I guess! Not to mention it is NaNoWriMo and I haven't even started on my novel!

Aw. Nice to hear from y'all. Sorry bout taking so long to get back to you"s. Been busy.

Rosie girl, Been raining lots here too. It finally cleared up a bit yesterday. Today I was even working around the yard and not wearing a shirt. I think some passers-by thought me odd,.....but then I don't sit in the house, office or car all day like most I know,....so it seemed real warm to me. Besides I was working, not sitting.
I tried fixing tires on the trike again because the "tire ordering guy" didn't do his job. I saw that air is leaking from the actual tread so 2 of them are lost causes. So I gotta wait for the "TOG" to do his job. :gig
Now 1 of the tires on the 4wheeled rig just kinda exploded.:rolleyes::/
So...ya...no training here either...
When I was younger I would just harness 1 or 2 of my K9's and just run with them. And even though I am still in relatively good health and condition I am crowding 60 so............

KDOD. If you are referring to my post...... The chickens, geese, ducks and turkeys seem to not be bothered by it. I think the ducks actually like it. The dogs on the other hand look like they're feeling a tad antsy. For sure they dislike the muck. I have moved some of them. It's gonna take a while because I do it by myself.

On that note people, it's my experience that mushing is usually, for want of a better phrase, kinda lonely. It seems most people are not able at one level of their humanity or another to do what it takes and would just as soon leave you to your own devices.

Blue, Ya.... I can totally relate to training even when I'm sick.
I was 47 and had a bad cold with cough and fever. Was sick for a week. Temp, was in the deep -20's down to mid -30's. My nephew questioned my sanity when I asked to help me hook-up and ride while I operated. It was 10 miles to Buddy's house and when we got there I saturated. I stripped, put my clothes in the dryer and my boot liners over the heater, had a couple cups of herbal tea, dressed and mushed/ran home, hauled in nuff wood to last till morning, stoked up the fire, had a glass of water and went to bed? In the morning I was "cured". You're a way younger than 47. It ain't that cold out yet. At your age your immune system is only starting to peak so it'll probably be better-off "sweating-it-out".
You gona post pix of the dogs if/when you get them ........right?
Wow..cool...you keep busy too.. Good. Build good habits now and they will stay with you for as long as you can function. It's the bad habits that'll take you down if you aren't awake to them.
What's " NaNoWriMo"? Something about "Na____No____ Writing Month"?

Rez: Your carts look awesome! I'm going to look at a 3 wheeled cart this weekend so we shall see! :D If not I think I'll probably combine ideas from different designs to make a one-of-a-kind rig :p Anyways, thanks for the pics! And it's just at muddy here as I imagine it is there. I've moved some of the dogs to a grassy area but it's already muddy again. It's supposed to dry up for a few days though, hopefully.

Blue: that really stinks! I hate getting sick... Hope you feel better! :/

On another note, fall training is going AWESOME here! With the rainy days and cool temps, we've gotten pretty far ahead in miles. We ran our longest run yet; 20 miles!! Woot woot! I was so proud! :D I seriously can't wait for this season to really start. I'll try to get pics up, my phone is starting to kick the bucket so it doesn't always cooperate. If any of you guys have a Face Book, we have a page that's updated fairly regularly. It's called Morrison Racing Kennel :)

Thanks. I like them for a number of reasons. Because of my Scot blood I'm kinda "frugal" I think. I got them pretty cheap. I personally like the trike more for my area..... Right now anyhow. That may change when we go through a dry cycle in a few years for a few years. I'll most likely be able to travel the meadows again......... If I'm still alive to see it. The cycles are roughly 15 years in the making.
There are some awesome 3 wheeled dry land rigs out there for sure. Not good for me though. Hooking up 8 of my dogs to that little thing would be like hooking up 5 wild Mustangs to a Democrat buggy. Or pulling a 10speed racing bike with a 69GTO Judge 389......I'll fly till I crash and burn. :lau

I got on your Facebook. It's nice to see stuff like pix and info. It's nice to hear a more detailed account of your team and training etc. Wow! 20miles. Serious eh. Congrats. Hard work is the key.
I don't know how to navigate though. I kinda think it don't matter much since I don't have a Facebook page/site. Curious now tho' because I see how useful it could be, even just to advertise my mushing thing I have going here.
So, ya,...maybe I'll get someone to teach me. My wife and all my kids have Facebook.....well except for my baby
Know whats really Kooleos?.....My eldest son's surname is Morrison. He came as part of a package deal with my wife.LOL. previous marriage

OMGoodness.. It's almost 1030 on a beautiful day. I've been on this darn iPad for almost 3 hrs.
Outa here.
