Aww, didn't mean to make ya blush lol

Wow that sounds like it will be a really fun time! That's great!

Makes sense, there's a lot of animals. And honestly if you hired someone and they did the fire wrong they could burn the house down too.

Oh boy, they must have been full to not howl for hours and not wanna run! LOL thats great you can store it outside though, forgot about the cold. Thought you would need one biiiigggg freezer ha

And oh wow that's a long time! See, I spend hours on the phone so it's more inside than outside which i think is bad buti mean there's great stuff on the phone, tv etc. But i feel like being on it some is fine or even normal especially now but the problem is it interferes with stuff. For instance, taking forever to get ready because i waste an hour on my phone or something orrr forgetting to eat for 2-3 hours after waking up because phone laziness and procrastination. Staying up till 5 or 6am, sleeping toll 12, 1, 2, 3pm. Okay that's only come back this week but still. It's kind of a problem. I need to work on it.

But awwww
LOL thank you.

He is great. Invigorated by this cold and SNOW. Snowed some yesterday but been snowing literally all day today. I bet we have probably at least 12 inches, probably closer to 14 or more. It keeps coming. All he wants to do is be OUTSIDE in it and play play play lol it's actually kind of annoying cause usually he's happy sleeping
lau.gif
I really don't mind though, I try to take him out more often or leave him out. But at least he doesn't need to run miles a day or anything so if playing in the snow in the backyard is all he needs then I am glad to provide lol legs been a little gimpy, he's sore when he gets off the bed after sleeping a while aka his usual all day, but he's fine after he walks around a bit. Cold doesn't help much tho he loves it. Maybe he just needs to lay less
Oooops. Sorry for taking so long.
Yes I would love to have one of them 40 foot reefers(refrigerated semi trailer) so I could store fresh frozen meat/s (deer fish elk beef pork etc) all summer long.Probably increase my hydro and/or gasoline bill(they run on electricity and they also have a small gas combustion engine).

I spend some time Surfing too. Probably gona a bit more for the next couple of days because I have this awful cough?headache/nasal/dizzy/weak/lazy thing happening
I see that a lot of people REALLY like their phones?tablets. I see even my own kids spending hours upon hours on theirs. People walking around in the mall, people at a hockey game...
I personally think and feel it' a horrible waste of time.
I believe "Then Great Wonder", "Allah", Krishna", "God", gave us time in this world to make positive choices that yes make our life easier but moreso to be healthy and active and even moreso to be more aware/appreciative of his/her/it's greatness(some people think non-gender, some think male, some think female. Me...I don't know for sure. Haven't personally met him yet).
My Nana said to me very often,"When the sum comes up so should your eyelids. When the sun goes down so should your eyelids." An old man friend of mine just recently deceased mentioned to me me few whilst discussing today's ways, "It's not nice to sleep long.". One my mentors often said,"When you wake jump out of bed. That way you surprise that spirit and it is left layng there in that bed. Then you don't let that lazy spirit take over your day time. It will still be there in that bed when you will go back to sleep and you will have a good rest.".
I surely have been blessed to have such wonderfully philosophical people in my life.

Yes, dogs seem to love snow. I think they inherently know they will not heat up so easy while being active. I think it's a very old almost dim memeory of hunting.
We pitiful humans need to remember that Canis Familiarus is still over 99% wolf and Wolf evolved in a time of cold and were one of few creatures to survive the latest Ice Age. And since most dogs of the "Old World" dogs that essentially means their breeds predominantly evolved from the European Canis Lupis
Even with myself when I eat lunch or supper and rest to let my tummy settle I stiffen up. That's the biggest reason I try to keep busy and have light snacks often. But like I said earlier I'm getting older now and my body reacts differently to whatever and I need to start changing my lifestyle.
How old is your K9 pal why he gets sore already??

Thanks guys! I've never seen the dogs so happy to "work"!
I wish we could race but I'm not allowed to travel or add dogs.. but I do plan on racing after I move out!
Self taught dogs from scratch and these turn outs are amazing! Just need to touch up turn commands and they'll be great! They stop and (mostly) start when told.
I'm going to use up the snow time while it last. Just short trips daily? Would that be okay?

Remember when I said that the mother is the one that passes on attitude?
Nala is a Siberian Husky. = cold weather dog. Hank may not be PURE Sibe but his mother is. Thus Hank would be in his element too with snow being on the ground. It's genetics at play. We can argue that I suppose but........
However with your tenacity at training it enhances what they evolved to do.
I say again... Way to go Rosie girl

How close do you have yours? I think it's mostly because of the bungee I have.

Geez it's 130AM and I was roughly awakened by a horrible fit of coughing. So I thought,"Hmmmmm. Awake now. May as well see what's going on in the world."
So I put Vicks on the soles of my feet and here I am.... and waiting for the Vicks to start its work.

My bridle extends only about maybe 14" beyond the sled(not the brushbow) with another 10" of shock cord(bungee) and MAYBE 2" of loop(on mainline). My mainline section are 6' and the tugs are 30" and the necklines are 8 to 12". All the tugs and necklines are looped into the end loops of the mainline sections and mainline a sections are looped to each other. My "mainstay" is 6dog but I always carry atleast 2 extra sections, each with a carabiner on the neckline end. Quick attach/detach comes in handy for sure. I also carry 3or4 extra tugs and necklines. And a couple harnesses. Never know what could happen when mushing through an area where there are any number of dogs. Maybe I may just harness them up and "voila" 2 more pullers for part of the journey.
Also I have an 8 place sectioned gangline I bought that I think must be for racing setup. The sections are 9 feet long and the tugs are dang near 5' long and 18" necklines. They ain't detachable like mine. Kinda looks weird to me but I can see the merits of such a set up for racing teams. So anyways, If I wanna go to the store quick I use the lead section and 2 team sections and use my heavy duty wheel section. That puts the tails of my wheelers a bit better than 4&1/2' from the front of the sled. It works well stringing out the dogs so they can run easier but the wheelers still have lots of control steering in tighter areas as opposed to "cutting in the corners". The only problem with that is I gota be on the ball with braking. Even I dislike having the sled bump my dogs now indeed how it must make them feel.:p
Ya, so if my written description didn't paint a clear enough picture I can post pix.
Maybe I will anyhow.
The Vicks started its work. As hoped I ain't coughing now so I can go back to bed.
I hope you have a good nights sleep too.

That sure would be nice! I could store stuff too. Like start raw feeding Gator or store a lifetime supply of ice cream LOL

And ahhh yes, I'm afraid the whole world is addicted to their phones these days, it's just a technological age I guess, which is nice cause you can do things you never used to be able to, but the problem is everyone is on it all the time. Myself included.

I do admit I would like to work on using it less.

Even if I could just use it a few minutes less every day or go outside (sometimes i don't even go outside or put the animal's priority lower on the list), maybe read a book once in a while, or something. I think my eyesight and joints are getting worse too. They say you can go blind from being on it all the time and I believe it, having a glaring screen 6 inches to a foot or less from your face at all times...

And wow that is all fantastic, wise advice!!

And ahhh yes, that makes sense. And I think with his breed mix too (half Labrador Retriever, half Great Pyrenees) and being as smart as he is, he has some survival instincts. Maybe I'm crazy but we went on a walk in our woods the other day (not a huge area but fun) and at first he was just kind of sniffing whatever but there was this one section where he didn't wanna go that way so I pulled him and took over the leading for that little bit and anyway, he chose to stay right behind me in the broken trail. He's done it before too even in the yard. In the summer he would have bounded back ahead but he knew to stay behind and walk the already broken trail cause breaking it himself is hard. Of course later on he went back to sniffing and going wherever but still. I'm not sure if it's really survival instincts or just a smart dog but still impressive. He also stuck his little nose deep in the snow a couple times next to trees, after mice or other little critters I'm sure. The Pyrs were bred to be independent thinkers and make their own decisions cause I think they left them alone with sheep on mountains or wherever else so I think they probably had to hunt small critters and he retains that i guess.

Oh and I got so caught up on rambling that I forgot to answer your question hahah sorry.

He turns 5 in March.

I'm not really sure why but I think it's more to do with that old injury and his bad hips than senior soreness

That's too bad about the old injury
I can most certainly relate to old injuries affecting us later
LOL tie a great wonder that I be walking still today
Many would be awed at my list, some would laugh, some may well be mortified. Too extensive to talk about right now
I knew Gator is 4. Says so in your signature. I was just saying something that we say around here when we see another that is kinda having a hard time getting around. We say,"How the heck old are you anyway boy?!!!". We say it with a familiarity that comes from growing up together and ribbing each other good naturedly.

Yes they were left with the sheep. Well not all the time but ya sometimes the shepherder would need to leave for sometimes a cpl days or more. These dogs were raised with the sheep as brothers essentially and protect them thusly. Tha Labador Retriever was bred to retrieve ha but also to be a good family pet. 2 very loyal K9's

The world is most assuredly out of balance. This technological age is not conducive to free thinking, physical living and/or the health of the Earth. It seems smaller families are building bigger houses essentially creating a mini world to live in so they can hide from the real world. I believe that's one reason why we are so adept at destroying it. We are so self absorbed with our own little world that we don't have time or really care about the larger picture. The Internet is a big big distraction, as the big hype about sports and such. If we can pacify the hordes by keeping them distracted all the subliminal messages bombarding is through all the media methods insidiously controls us.
Imagine getting payed millions of $ a year to PLAY a GAME while I'm literally busting my back sorting recyclables for minimum wage so the hordes will be quelled by a 12 of beers and a 54" HD LED Smart TV, slobbering pizza all over the beer guts and diabetic ridden bodies feeding the pharmaceutical beast. And my wife's nephew Jordan Tootoo is one of them PLAYERS. Wow. It is so so close to home.
Even me.... I could be making mitts rightnow. I can sell a pair for $500.00.
And what am I doing???? Small time Internet philosopher.......via iPhone.
Really close to home :lau:gig
Thought I should interject here stating I do not have a beer belly. I don't consume alcohol.
I do not have diabetes. Other than having a bad cold/viral infection I am in pretty darn good health due to diet and physical activity.
I don't even like taking any pharmaceuticals. Rather tough it out or use the herbs of the forest(or swamp or prairie or glade or.....)of "God's" Creation.
Re: going blind. Ya. I suppose so eh. I know the old black&white TVs put out a lot of radiation. Or so was said after an entire generation grew up in front of it.
I personally put on my 2x specs and hold this phone a cpl feet from my face and just "zoom" a bit. My eyes still get sore after an hr or so though.
I think we all need to wake up our spirits and have a good heart to heart talk with it.
I think that may be the only way we will ensure a decent"ish" Earth will be left for my kids and their kids and so on.
Maybe we gota ask our self every day,"What do I want?, For who?", Why?", When?, How?, Where?".
Ya eh. Internet philosopher :gig I crack me up sometimes.

How close do you have yours? I think it's mostly because of the bungee I have.

Sorry I gota back out on my promise. No pix today.
I was sick all day. Laid around mostly. Drank some juice and water and even a cup of coffee.
But I ain't a real good patient. I can't stay still too long. Now indeed to stay in the house.
I needed fresh air. I knew I wouldn't be able to sledding so I went for a little walk 500 yards up the hill to visit my dad.

Besides, my dad ain't real healthy now. I wanna enjoy him while I still got him.
On that note my mom too. And for that matter my 99 yr old Gran has developed cancer in a bladder of some kind so.....

I am so very very lucky. I wanna honor these beautiful blessings Creator gave me.
All said I still hope she makes it to her 100th birthday party.

Anyways, I'll get pix up one day soon.
Gee, I gota remember to take my phone with me one day when I go sledding so I can get some action pix.
Can video clips be posted on here? If so how?
