Yo people, how's the snow down your way/s?
My trails are showing soil in some areas
We've had really warm weather and even some rain
Kinda getting scared for what's coming because I know winter is far from over

No snow anymore. Rain and mud. Hank took a chuck out of his paw padding on the rear right. Got it wrapped and healing slowly.

I have no clue how he did it. Mum let him out while I was at school and I came home to him locked up bleeding. It's been 2-3 days I believe maybe 4 and it's no better. Resting a lot. I wrap it with vasilen or some ointment to help. Today I let it air out.

Maybe you could try some sort of antibiotic ointment like Neosporin or one of the ones made for dogs? Not sure how much the Vaseline will do but then again I've never dealt with an injury like that. Hope it heals up soon! Has he been to a vet? Maybe they would be able to give you some advice or medicine?

I really suggest using some Vetericyn Wound and Skin Care Spray. It's pretty much my go-to thing for superficial wounds.

A dog's mouth actuAlly makes a germicide. I can't remember exactly what it's called. Lysine or lycosine or something.

We used to get dogs to lick wounds on horses and cattle and other livestock. Or if we got bit we would get a(if possibly the same one that bit me(whomever)dog to lick the wound. It worked well in every case I can recall.
Also urine is sterile. Well...usually. Only salmonella and tract infection will make it "un"-sterile. I've seen guys pee on their horses to get rid of saddle sores when they didn't have access to certain herbal remedies....which by the way work very very well.
Wild sage is good. It's mildly astringent and antibiotic.
I dislike petroleum jelly or salves(Vaseline polysporin and such). It's un-natural and the dog's natural reaction is to lick all foreign objects/substances from the wound and keep it clean and air-dry"able". "Petroleum"....really want your dog ingesting that? If he ingests the polysporin type stuff (antibiotic topical ointments) he is also ingesting antibiotics which essentially will combat his own immune system and kill or atleast mortally wound the enzymes/pre&probiotics in his/her digestive tract.
I firmly believe honey will work better than any other "salve" like substances. The "fluid" wil create a barrier to foreign bugs and the naturally occurring sugers in it will promote/feed the bodies requirements for "More protein please. We're tryna heal here.".
Again I stress, do what you can to utilize what was created by the master physician.
Nature is smarter than we ever will be. Nature does not have a frail ego like us. And has no need or desire for $$ which is what we need if we wish to acquire manmade bandaid type meds.
Please remember also, it is not my intent to insult, anger or wound at any level of humanity.
My intention is only to empower any and all possible levels of ones humanity by sharing what little I know.

Ooooops. Got on a rol there eh.
Sorry. Can't help it. I love and respect my dogs so much that I cn feel it in the pit of my stomach. Scary to say 'almost as much as my kids'.
I guess it's just a passion I hope is felt by all humans that choose to strengthen/embelish/??(make stronger and happier) their life force with the friendship of Dog.
Love to all
Keep on mushing
