Hi there, this is my first time with chickens, and I bought them from a local feed store, guaranteed to be 90% hens. So now we are about 9-11 weeks out and my youngest chick, an Americauna, is making me suspicious 'she' is a 'he' based on behavior (more bold and independent) and feathering. I just don't know if this is all normal for Americaunas or if I need to start looking for a new home for it. It might be too young to tell, but I've included some photos of its head and tail and body. Any input would be much appreciated. I am too much of a stress case to wait until I wake up to crowing!
thanks!

Looks like a pullet! :)

thanks so much for the speedy response! typically how old are roosters before they start crowing?

I am pretty sure that is a hen. I have 4 Americauna right now, I started with 5 of them. I got them when they were 2 days old as straight run, so when I discovered I had two little roo's I had to rehome one. At 2 months, the roosters had a larger comb, though they did not appear more aggressive at that time. Then about 4 months they started trying to crow, it really sounded pathetic, but obvious, that is also when they began showing off and having little spats.

Thanks so much for all your help. I feel much better. Now I won't go out every morning and stare at her trying to figure out if she's a rooster. Maybe that's why she's a little neurotic. ;)

Agree on the Easter egger pullet. She's going to be beautiful with that blue under color!
