Americauna or EE?

EE's make theees too! She gave me seven. canna and 2 chicks.JPG

Nice EE. We have several, and like them all. Ours generally lay green eggs of varying shades.

Looking in the APA book of Breed Standards, Ameraucana breed have slate to black colored shanks, Pea comb, and "Face nearly hidden by muffs" among other traits that one would care about if they were going to show or breed their bird. As it happens, many EE do not have the slate to black shanks, so that is one easy check.

She's gorgeous!!! 💜💜💜. I just got new chicks (about a month old), they said ameracauna on the tubs, but receipt said EE... so I can’t help you there... the 2 ameracaunas I got from the same store a few years ago layed green eggs.

So it seems that I have been calling my bird an EE all this time, but she's an Ameraucana after all!

OP's bird is an EE.
EE isn't a breed name or a hybrid name it's just a label attached to an ever changing assortment of birds.
Usually the easiest way to know if you have a true ameraucana is that if you have to ask then you don't.
True Ameraucana are bred to the breed standard by breeders that take the breed serious. If you bought a bird from one of those breeders you would of known exactly what you were getting and paid a higher price for it.
It's real unlikely to stumble upon a bird or chick from a farm store, swap, CL etc that turns out to be an ameraucana.
For the most part an ameraucana has to be searched out for.
