I noticed the other day that my 5 week old Americauna's chest is squishy. It is as if she has a large sack of fluid on her chest. I don't know whether to be concerned or not. She seems to be eating and drinking well.

Welcome to BYC. It sounds like she probably has a normal full crop. That is where the food and water are stored before being digested. As long as she is not acting sick, it is probably normal.

It's the crop all chickens have it.. I had trouble with mine and these steps helped me to determine if it was infected. When chickens eating something that doesn't digest fully is impacted crop, it usually is due to long grass, hay, or pine shavings. Sour crop is basically a yeast infection in the chickens crop.
Tonight or tomorrow separate you hen from the flock and take all food and water away in the morning before you give her any food or water see if the crop is still squishy, if so she has sour crop. And I will tell you what you do with that if she has it

I removed the food and water last night. She is still squishy this morning.

Sorry I do not know much about sour crop usually searching it on Google can give you some answers
