Amherst Pheasant

Hello. I was wondering if anyone knew if you needed a license or permit to own/raise Amherst Pheasants in Maine? The Murry McMurry site says we should check before placing an order... I can call the state Monday, but wondered if anyone here has experience? Thank you

I did a quick search and didn't find anything applying to ornamental pheasants but permits required to raise/release, propagate ringnecked and other quail and grouse that are native to Maine. It is best to check with your state wildlife department for their requirements on raising/keeping gamebirds.
