Amount of feed?

,25 lb is for leghorns & sex links. Rocks would probably eat .33 lb. especially in the winter. Chickens eat. Over the years with confined dual purpose birds I normally went thru 80-100lbs per month along with a cup of scratch a day.

I free range an hour or so 5 days a week if not more and they have a 10x30 netted run daily. They like to eat greens. My Ten new layers are going through 50lbs of flock raiser and 25lbs of ten grain scratch a month. That can change as they have been laying only the last month. The feed is in the 1/2" HC covered 14x6 armored coop/run. My feed bucket and secondary feeders are up off the ground so food loss is at a minimum.

Just throwing in our numbers for comparison. We have 14 hens, varying breeds, with just a few bantams. They eat 100 lbs of feed about every 6 weeks. They free range on weekends and a couple hours weekdays. They get about a cup of scratch treat every day to share amongst them while free ranging.
