I want to be sure and use right amount of polyisol vitamins for chicks

So what do you folks who use them advise as to the amount of polyvisol in a gallon of water
thanks for the help
just email me with any questions

I normally just give a drop or two on the beak one to two times a day depending on the chick. If you want to treat the water I would stick to powdered chicken vitamins.

Same here...I didn't put the Poly vi sol in the water, I only put a couple drops on the beak of the weak chicks, twice a day. I've only had 2 weak chicks, never a whole brooder full, but I did put some powdered vitamins/electrolytes in the water for them for about a week.

Sorry-new and clueless here; what do you mean on the beak? Do you mean you pry it's beak open somehow and put inside or do you literally mean on the beak, on the outside? I hope someone knows what I'm trying to say! lol

If you pry the beak open and put the vitamins in, you run the risk of drowning the chick. It can easily go down the "wrong pipe" and into it's lungs. So what you do is place a drop kind of on the top, but side of the beak and it kinda rolls into the beak and the chick will swallow it. It's safer that way.
