I've been searching in Tucson all day to find someone who carries amprolium. ONE place carries it and it is labeled for cattle. It's a 16 oz. bottle of liquid. 9.6% oral solution. When diluted in 40 gal is 96 mg per ml. Does any one know what the dosing would be for a chicken and how many days?

I'm wondering as the woman in the corid thread was, how to make sure they're getting it all. If you mix up a gallon at the proper ratio there's now way to get them to drink the whole gallon...I guess I could mix it strong and hope for the best...

Make sure it's their ONLY source of water and you can at least be somewhat sure they're getting it all. Of course how much of that gallon each gets is iffy!

You do not want to increase the dosage to make it stronger, the mixture is specific for the treating of the cocci, more is not better. Overdosing can cause damage to their internal organs, specifically the liver, then other organs...then death. If your hens are too sick to drink it on their own, use an eyedropper and put a drop or two on the side of their beak to get them to drink.
Dosage for the 9.6% liquid corid is 9.5cc per gallon x 7 days. OR 4.74cc per 2 quarts of water x 7 days. OR 2.5cc per one ounce of water x 7 days.

The Corid 9.6 % should be 9.5 cc per gallon. Make sure it is the only water they have access to. The dose is calculated based on the average amount of water a chicken drinks in a day. No need to mix it stronger. Not sure about the powder, but if you are talking about Peter brown, he knows what he is talking about. I would use his instructions. Hope that helps.

THANK YOU ALL so much for the great input. I think I'll try the eye dropper method just to make sure she gets it.
