Ok so 2 days ago I noticed my male peacock with thick crusty discharge on his eyes, one was shut, having bubbly discharge from his eyes, and nasal congestion with mucus. Not eating as much. Also, I noticed similar symptoms(minus the crustiness on the eyes with 2 of my turkey toms).
I started cleaning the eyes with saline and then with pink eye solution for cattle (hypochlorus acid) and applying Neosporin to the eyes- inner to outer corner. Isolated the birds and started on them on electrolytes in the water. I am stuggling to figure out the doses and choices of antibiotics. I ordered some doxy-tyl 10 -40 mg that should be getting here in the next few days and have some Fin flox (ciprofloxacin 500 mg) readily available, but again not sure of correct dosage.
Should I start them now on plain live culture greek yogurt?
What is the correct dose of antibiotics?
My peafowl is probably about about 6lbs; turkeys are probably around 25-35 lbs. Anyone ?
