Amprolium withdrawal

Corid is a name of an amprolium 'drug' that you can give to your poultry if in fact they do get cocci.. That's why i included it because not sure what you were using.

Corid works great for broilers. Mine get it at 1 week and again at 4 weeks. It seems to do the trick.
Do you follow the above regiment instead of giving feed with amprolium?

ALso I have bbeen raising up a lot of chicks this summer and have about half that are boys, I would like to send them to freezer camp before the normal 6 weeks on an amprolium based chick starter ( these went out at 6 weeks and are 8-10 weeks and I want to decrease the feed bill NOW. Can I eat birds that have been eating amprolium?

I believe you can eat them because amprollium is a thiamine blocker. I don't give them any after four weeks anyways so they are off of it for a minimum of two weeks anyways.

I do not feed them medicated feed. Mine get 16% protein hog mash, which is a lot cheaper than commercial poultry feed. (about $7 a bag cheaper) they still grow out fine and I have lost very very few to heart attacks/leg problems. Using this I also do not withdraw feed. I use what works for me. Plus I cannot stand paying $17 or more a bag for commercial broiler feed. If I did I would have to charge more for my birds and most likely have fewer customers/sales
