One of our roosters in an almost 28month old hatchery red Bantam cochin, and he is just the best rooster ever!
Not long ago, he was out free ranging and found a bunch of mulberries, and he picked one up and called the hens over, and he let them eat all the berries.
Then yesterday he was out in the yard and found some seeds and called over the young chickens, and he let them eat those seeds.
He's so nice to his hens, helps hens find good nests, helps broodies find food for their chicks
, and he never pecks the chicks, and he is just a really awesome rooster
that's all.
