5 week old standard barred cochins-I call them the trouble twins

These are hatchery chicks I ordered. They are tiny compared to their other cochin brooder mates. They are both quite wild and curious. Will the barred pattern become more prominent as they get older? It looks so faint. Maybe because they are just run of the mill hatchery chicks? Any guesses on male or female?

It's just hatchery quality. I'm not sure on gender with these. Some feathers appear to be double barred, and some don't. So give it a few weeks, and watch the comb and wattles for size and color.
