an egg broke inside my silkie hen!

Pics
I’m kinda freaking out.. I have to go to bed, but I don’t want her to die?!?:hit She is drinking on her own, and she already, but she can’t pass the egg, and there is tissue in front of it, so I can’t get it out:(

I tried one more time, but I can’t reach the broken pieces.. I guess I’ll have to wait till morning :(
How are you and your girl doing this morning?

I felt her this morning, and it seems like the eggshells have moved all over the place... she is eating and drinking with a healthy appetite, but she still can’t pass anything but little tiny poops, and clear and white discharge... if I could find a vet, what would they be able to do? All of my money is for my feed bill, and I can’t work right now, because my college takes as much time as a full time job. I have $500, besides the $600 I lost (or got stolen from me), but if I was to use it, I’m not sure what I would do for feed money... I love peanut, and really want to do anything I can to save her.
I hope she is ok? Is it too late to take her to the vet? Is there a vet near you that looks at chickens? Is there any BYC member close to her? You are an amazing young woman!
I don’t know of any BYC member near me that would know what to do. I don’t know of any vets around here that care for chickens, but I could check... Thank you so much, that means a lot:hugs

I'm so sorry:hugs
From what you are saying, if I understand, the egg likely has been laid internally? You feel it behind tissue, is it in the abdomen?

I honestly don't know what a vet could do. IF the egg is in the oviduct where they can be reached (but you should be able to feel that) they may be able to remove the broken shell pieces.
Again, to be honest, it likely would cost quite a bit just to be seen and there's always a good chance there is nothing that can be done or that she will recover. That's a lot of money to spend, especially when funds are tight. I'm not trying to be discouraging, but you also need to consider what you will do if you spend all your money. You have other chickens to take care of and feed, not to mention school.

If she were my hen, and I was certain she had a hard-shelled broken egg inside that she couldn't pass, and I were unable take her to a veterinarian due to finances, distance, or unavailability, and I'd run out of options on what I personally could do for her and she were still enjoying life, eating, drinking and carousing ... I would let her resume living until living becomes unpleasant for her.

I mean... after you've run out of options, praying that things will simply work themselves out (in this case broken egg shell, and liquid egg) is all you have left.

The prognosis, without intervention, divine or otherwise, is not good.

If you discover that her quality of life becomes poor, you may need to consider culling her.

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, it really is not meant that way. I have tried to soften the tone as best as I'm able and still convey the message intended. You need to prepare yourself for the worst, and pray for the best possible outcome.

I feel it in the abdomen, just by feeling her abdomen, and from the inside I can feel it, but there is tissue in the way... I’m just not sure what the vet would do...

no, you don’t sound harsh, I have been trying to prepare myself for it , because at this point it seems I might lose her:(... I honestly don’t think my parents would allow me to take her to the vet... it seems silly to them, because “it’s just a chicken”... but I love her so much... why is it always the chickens you love a lot... I know this sounds terrible, but I have a couple hens that are the darned meanest things on earth, but it’s always the nice ones:(
