I know this post is a total waste of space, but I want y'all to meet Fred. Loulou, who coincidentally crowed for the first time yesterday, found a new home with a family outside of city limits. Their little boy was devastated when all of the straight run chicks turned out to be girls. I told him to let me pick them out next time. Two out of the five sexed chicks I picked out were boys!

So here is Fred. Terrible name for a girl, I know, but I figure with a boy's name, maybe she will actually be a girl.

Any idea what color she is? Very pretty, whatever it is.

Buff? Buff Laced? (Is there such a color?) Easter Egger... looks to me like a pullet..... but I'm no expert. LOL I'm sure the EE experts will have more info for you. She is gorgeous!

Is there such a thing as a "buff splash"?? She is gorgeous!! She looks girlie to me, but how old is she? I do see a little pink in her comb. Can you tell if there are one or three rows of "peas" in her comb?

I'm not sure what the coloration is called, but she looks just like 2 of our Easter Egger girls...

Such lovely ladies you have Dawn. And thank you everyone. What do y'all think of the name Winifred?

I think poor Omlet is going to develop a complex with Fred around. Let's just say that she was a cuter chick than chicken.

I am not too concerned about Fred's gender. She is up over 10 weeks already and I know they were pretty paranoid about me ending up with another roo and took great care to select a replacement for the replacement. I was told not to touch the younger chicks for fear of converting them to boys.
