I'm sorry for your loss. We had this a few years ago and I live in Geauga county Ohio, We have pictures of paw prints, sounds and kits of Mountain lions. The only time we had a loss we was when we let the chickens out in the spring when we recorded mom calling babies. Sounds almost the same. Except we were told theres no big cats here until we showed them picks of the kits.

I have been following the PVC chicken tractor threads and came across this one. What about stringing electic fence tape along the bottom about 2" from the ground and 10". Should be a piece of cake to attatch to PVC and you could get a solar E-fence charger for a portable pen. It's just a thought.
