A thought I had for a sticky thread, or maybe some sort of organised catalogue of threads, something I'd find useful anyway...
What about a list of diseases, conditions, and treatments people have encountered, sorted in some way that anyone who has a "omg my duck has disease/condition X" or "omg my duck has this symptom, what is wrong?" Can look up threads or posts from others who have encountered the same disease or symptom, and their experiences of what treatment worked or did not work, and for symptoms, what disease it ended up being, and what clues eventually lead them to the diagnosis.
Not exactly sure what the best way would be to organise such a thread to make it easy for someone to find the particular symptom or disease they are looking for. Plus how to maintain it when new entries and experiences are added
But just thought, if there WAS a way to collate, index/organise, and make it easy to scan and search by symptom and disease, then there must be a wealth of useful member experience and information here that might help people with birds that are in trouble.
Especially since it seems so many of us don't have access to a knowledgeable, affordable or nearby avian vet, and therefore have to rely on what we can find out and do ourselves when one of our feather babies gets sick or injured.
If there is already something like this apologies and can someone please point me towards it. I have looked through the stickies but don't see any easy way to be able to quickly check for a symptom or disease and then feel sure I have seen every post or thread by someone who has dealt with that same situation I might be in, or at least not find it quickly, which might be important if the birds situation is urgent.
Maybe the admins of the site might have some ideas on how something like this might be implemented using the features available, or we can brainstorm a way to do this?

Ie your duck suddenly starts coughing, and you can log on here and within a couple of minutes have a list of every person who has experienced a coughing duck along with what diagnoses they got, what her signs helped them or their vet diagnose it, what treatment so worked or didn't need etc. and then after your own coughing duck situation has played out, add your own experiences and lessons and know they will also be part of a list of coughing duck real life experiences, the next person with a coughing duck can quickly and easily find

I think ducks in general are pretty healthy birds. Good idea though.
